ACU Technology Support Services, a 50‑person student‑heavy IT support group at Abilene Christian University, faced a scheduling nightmare because most employees are students with highly variable availability. To address this they adopted Humanity, the work scheduler from TCP Software, after homegrown systems and spreadsheets proved unintuitive for mass scheduling.

TCP Software’s Humanity allowed ACU to centrally capture availability, produce reliable schedules, and use the Humanity API to integrate a custom time‑clock so managers can see who was late or working off‑schedule; staff also use Humanity’s Payroll reports to monitor labor spend. The result was simplified scheduling, more accurate expectations, faster administrative response, and measurable visibility into attendance and payroll that ACU now recommends to others.
