MyBinding, a 30-year veteran and one of the largest U.S. dealers in binding and laminating products with locations across several states, faced rapidly growing sales tax complexity as it expanded nexus from Washington into Idaho, Utah and — after an acquisition — California. What began as a manageable, one-state manual process of assigning jurisdictional tax codes in QuickBooks turned into a time-consuming, error-prone chore; an attempted switch to Avalara added high fees and cumbersome CSV exports and deduplication without solving the accuracy problem.

MyBinding implemented TaxJar’s Magento sales tax extension to automate collection and reporting, removing the need to update tax tables, upload CSVs, or manually sort transactions by jurisdiction. The integration streamlined filing, reduced errors and, according to Co‑Founder Jeff McRitchie, has saved the company dozens of hours per month while simplifying their sales tax workflow.
