PGA European Tour, which stages 47 events across 30 countries and already produces hundreds of hours of live content each year, needed a better way to engage global fans and deliver high-quality broadcasts from hard-to-reach golf courses. Its challenge was to move beyond traditional satellite-heavy distribution and create more digital, immersive content for viewers worldwide with the help of Tata Communications and its sports media network services.
Tata Communications implemented a hybrid connectivity approach, using its global fibre network alongside satellite to support reliable, lower-latency distribution of video and digital content. The result was more affordable delivery of high-quality media, stronger broadcaster and sponsor reach, and a path toward 4K HDTV, OTT, and app-based experiences; the partnership also gave PGA European Tour greater scale, consistency, and end-to-end assurance.
