Formula 1® Group needed a way to deliver live race content, remote production, and digital fan experiences at global scale while handling the sport’s intense technical demands. Tata Communications supported the customer with connectivity, hosting, media products, and a content delivery network, helping Formula 1® reach audiences across more countries and platforms through services like F1.com and the official F1® app.
Tata Communications implemented a global fiber network and managed connectivity that enabled rapid data transfer from race locations to the F1 Media & Technology Centre, secure monitoring, and scalable web infrastructure for traffic spikes. The result was live video delivered to over 190 countries and territories, F1.com serving 44.2 million unique users, up to 7 million users on a race weekend, and more than 21 million video plays on F1.com and the app in the first half of 2017, while also enabling remote operations and UHD 4K broadcasts.
