MotoGP™ needed a better way to deliver live race coverage to broadcasters and fans worldwide, as its around-the-track bandwidth was limited and satellite distribution created high costs. Tata Communications stepped in with a bespoke sports broadcasting solution, using high-speed fibre, expandable mobile data center pods, and end-to-end media connectivity to support the international program feed.
With Tata Communications, MotoGP™ increased bandwidth from 600MB to 1GB per track, enabling more cameras, 360° bike footage, 4K HD feeds, and lower-latency delivery to more than 80 broadcast partners. The new setup also reduced travel and production costs through remote production and helped extend MotoGP™’s reach to over 200 million households worldwide.
