The Urban Infrastructure Services Provider faced growing pressure to serve 1.3 million residents more efficiently while controlling costs across critical city systems such as waste collection, water distribution, and street lighting. Tata Communications helped address these challenges with its IoT solutions, including a citywide LoRa network, to enable a more affordable path to Smart City status.

Tata Communications deployed a dedicated LPWAN-based LoRa network and supported end-to-end solution development, along with APIs for better data management and analytics. The rollout included digital dust bins, smart workforce trackers, remote valve monitoring, and streetlight control, delivering measurable impact such as a three-fold reduction in street lighting electricity costs, 30% water savings, and at least a 5% productivity gain.
