Thompson Tractor Company, the full-line Caterpillar dealer for Alabama and northwest Florida (and Hyundai forklift dealer for much of Georgia), needed a more flexible, scalable reporting foundation when moving to DBSi 5.0. Reporting administration was overly complicated and the company had limited time and resources to evaluate and retrain on a new reporting tool while preserving existing report designs and integrations across multiple financial and operational systems.
ACI (now part of TARGIT) quickly and seamlessly upgraded Thompson to DBSi 5.0 and provided an open-architecture data repository compatible with CODA, CRM and other systems, retaining proven report designs. ACI added a Market Segment dimension and validation cubes (via CODA V10) so managers can analyze gross profit by customer, industry and other slices, and deployed an Aged Receivables (AR) application used company-wide. The result: streamlined administration and security, better financial validations and performance, daily AR usage (~100 hits/day), improved visibility into customer profitability, and measurable improvement in receivable collections.
