PBC Linear, a manufacturer of linear ball bearing systems, faced the challenge of a significant skills gap in its workforce and a pressing need to train new employees rapidly without losing the expert knowledge of its seasoned operators. To address this, they partnered with vendor Taqtile to implement its Manifest augmented reality software.

The solution from Taqtile involved using AR headsets and iPads running Manifest to capture the knowledge of expert machinists and transform it into interactive, step-by-step digital work instructions. This allowed new hires with no prior machining experience to be trained on complex procedures in just three days, a dramatic reduction from the previous three-week training period. The scalable Taqtile system ensures critical operational knowledge is retained and effectively transferred to new employees.
