Hubbell Games, the developer behind the chess app Chess Mob, wanted to launch its first paid user acquisition campaigns but needed a smarter way to grow awareness, understand monetization, and build a user base efficiently. To support this challenge, they worked with Taptica on their mobile and social advertising strategy.
Taptica recommended shifting from a paid app to a freemium model and launching a free Android version of Chess Mob to reach a larger, more engaged audience. Using Taptica’s targeting and optimization tools, Hubbell Games reduced acquisition costs by up to 35% and saw about 25% of newly acquired players convert into paying users through in-app purchases, while also gaining valuable user feedback to improve the app.
