Case Study: UDlive achieves reliable underground sewer monitoring with Taoglas antennas

A Taoglas Case Study

Preview of the UDlive Case Study

Taoglas helps UDlive protect UK freshwater from aging sewer networks

UDlive, a developer of environmental sensor technology, faced the challenge of reliably monitoring underground sewer levels to prevent hazardous overflows. Their monitoring devices were located under heavy metal manhole covers in damp conditions, resulting in poor signal reception. Under a deadline for a pilot test, UDlive needed a robust antenna solution that could perform in this difficult environment and turned to vendor Taoglas for assistance.

The solution was the implementation of Taoglas's GSA8845 adhesive antenna with custom cabling and a protective silicone boot. This off-the-shelf product provided a strong, reliable signal strength even under thick metal. As a result, UDlive was able to meet its beta deployment deadline and then proceed to a full-scale rollout. The Taoglas solution provided the reliability needed to confidently monitor the sewer network and address a significant environmental issue.
