LADSensors Harnesses the Power of LoRa and Taoglas Technology to Fight Wildfires

LADSensors, an emerging fire detection platform, faced the challenge of establishing reliable long-range communication for its wildfire sensors in remote forests where cellular service is poor and satellite is expensive. They needed a durable, high-performance antenna for their LoRa gateways to receive data and also sought to reduce power consumption to improve sensor battery life. They turned to Taoglas for a solution.

Taoglas provided its Barracuda outdoor omnidirectional antenna for the gateways. This solution delivered a reliable communication channel with sensors up to 15 km away and improved the signal-to-noise ratio by 15-20%. This enhanced sensitivity allowed LADSensors to reduce transmission power, thereby extending battery life. The result is a more effective and reliable wildfire detection system that helps save lives and land at a fraction of the cost of conventional systems.
