Bigbelly uses Taoglas antennas to create "Smart Trash Cans"

Bigbelly sought to revolutionize waste management by creating a solar-powered, smart trash can system with cloud connectivity. Their challenge was to embed reliable GPS and cellular communication into a metal enclosure to transmit real-time data on fill levels, which required a specialized antenna solution to overcome signal blockage. They partnered with vendor Taoglas to find this critical component.

Taoglas provided its FXP14 and later its PA.25A Anam ceramic antennas, which were easily integrated into Bigbelly's design to deliver robust and efficient connectivity. This solution enabled Bigbelly's customers to optimize collection routes, leading to a 70-80% reduction in collection frequency. The successful implementation, facilitated by Taoglas, allowed Bigbelly to deploy its award-winning systems in over 47 countries, transforming public space operations.
