How WatchWire Reduces Taos Ski Valley’s Utility Costs and Supports their Sustainability Goals

Taos Ski Valley Inc., a Certified B Corporation committed to net‑zero carbon by 2030, faced the challenge of managing disparate utility and sustainability data to track decarbonization projects and meet reporting requirements. To address complex billing, metering, and emissions accounting needs, the resort partnered with Tango and its Energy and Sustainability Platform, WatchWire, to centralize and automate utility and sustainability data.

Tango deployed WatchWire to automate utility data ingestion, carbon accounting, real‑time facilities and equipment monitoring, and alerting for anomalies. As a result, Taos Ski Valley used the platform to verify operational changes that drove an 18% reduction in natural gas use at The Blake in 2023, recovered more than $5,000 from a utility billing error, and dramatically streamlined annual carbon inventories—reducing manual work, improving accuracy, and delivering measurable cost and emissions management benefits.
