Cathay Pacific redesigns its A350 cabin and Economy class with tangerine, including 214 Economy seats

tangerine was selected by Cathay Pacific to design the colour, material, and finish for its new fleet of A350 aircraft and to specifically redesign the Economy Class seating. The challenge was to extend the airline's brand expression throughout the entire cabin and to significantly innovate within the Economy Class to improve passenger comfort and experience.

The solution from tangerine included a harmonious cabin design inspired by Hong Kong and Asian minimalism. Most notably, they created a proprietary, patented six-way headrest for Economy Class that provides superior lateral support for sleeping. They also introduced a combined shelf and storage unit for personal devices. The result was a transformative enhancement to passenger comfort, with the headrest being hailed as a "tiny revolution" in airline seating.
