J.E. Brown & Associates migrates to cloud infrastructure with Tandem in under a year

J.E. Brown & Associates, a wholesale insurance brokerage, faced a challenge when their previous vendor became unavailable to maintain the critical web application portal and integrated Drupal marketing site they rely on for quotes, payments, and client communication. They enlisted Tandem to liberate the application from its previous host and take over its development and maintenance.

Tandem migrated both applications to dedicated cloud infrastructure on Digital Ocean, using an account owned by the customer to prevent future vendor lock-in. They built Ansible scripts for setup, orchestration, automated SSL renewals, and full system backups. Following the migration, Tandem adopted an iterative Agile process to steadily improve the software, adding new features and integrating third-party APIs. This refactoring and migration helped lower the customer's development costs.
