Novocure, an oncology company specializing in treating aggressive forms of cancer, faced a challenge with conflicting and untrusted data from multiple sources, including its CRM and external vendors. This data was critical for clinical trials and analytics but was siloed and of poor quality, hindering the organization's ability to leverage it for advanced analytics and machine learning. To build a modern data ecosystem, Novocure partnered with vendor Tamr Inc. and used Google BigQuery as its foundational data lake.

The solution implemented by Tamr involved using its data products to cleanse and master Novocure's data, which was loaded into Google BigQuery. Tamr's machine learning technology was used to resolve conflicts between datasets and create a single, clean, and trustworthy view of key entities like healthcare providers. This allowed Novocure's internal teams to confidently run deeper analytics and models, knowing the underlying data was accurate. The project was a success, enabling Novocure to upskill its team and capitalize on new technologies to support its growing business and clinical portfolio.
