Food Manufacturer Installs “Invaluable Quality System” to Comply with Bioterrorism Act for Food Traceability

Allegro Fine Foods Inc, a 40–60-employee producer, bottler and distributor of marinades and sauces, faced new FDA requirements under the 2002 Bioterrorism Act that mandated lot control and one-up/one-down traceability. Already using AccountMate for accounting, Allegro turned to Tamlin Software for a solution that would integrate lot tracking and GFSI-quality controls into its production and compliance processes.

Tamlin Software recommended and implemented its Food Manufacturing Conductor™ shop-floor control system integrated with AccountMate to track raw materials, WIP and finished goods by lot and vendor, capture in-process lab results, and provide reports like Expiration Date and Cradle-to-Grave for FIFO validation and rapid audits. The Tamlin solution enabled Allegro to trace ingredients forward and backward within hours, reduce scrap and isolate nonconformances, and helped the company achieve FDA compliance and GFSI certifications (SQF 2000 and IFS), while streamlining ongoing audit readiness and quality control.
