Thunder Bay Migrates to 100% Virtual Certification Process Using Talview

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU), a public health agency serving northern Ontario, needed to move its Ministry-recognized food handler certification from an in-person model to an online format to reduce rising operational costs, expand geographic reach, and address capacity and exam-integrity concerns.

The shift doubled weekly certifications (from ~50 to 100–150), saved staff time, cut operational costs, and enabled candidates across Ontario and Canada to get certified remotely while maintaining assessment integrity.
