Société Générale, a 152‑year‑old French multinational banking group, tasked its Global Innovation Center in India with running a meritocratic hackathon to select the best employee to represent the firm in Paris. The challenge was to assess 150 shortlisted programmers across three progressively harder stages without disrupting executives’ schedules, bringing participants together, or adding infrastructure.

Talview delivered a custom‑branded platform combining coding tests, video interviews and advanced proctoring to run three timed stages (three problems per stage, 90 minutes each) remotely. The integrated solution produced a fair, accumulated score to pick the winner, prevented plagiarism, avoided travel and supervision costs, improved insight into internal talent and engagement, and has since informed plans to scale similar hackathons and use video interviews for campus hiring.
