Nescafé Dolce Gusto Malaysia faced the challenge of breaking through content overload and becoming truly customer-centric on social media to drive engagement and follower growth. Partnering with agency Lion & Lion and social data provider Talkwalker, the brand set out to better understand local coffee fans and rework its content strategy to resonate in a crowded market.
Using Talkwalker’s social listening the team identified consumer passion points, high‑engagement hashtags and local tastemakers, then shifted to inspirational, insta‑worthy visuals, curated user‑generated content and personalized at‑home barista tips. The results were rapid and measurable: within three months Instagram engagements quadrupled, Instagram fans grew 5x, brand mentions rose 8x, branded search and Facebook engagement increased, and curated UGC delivered about 5% higher engagement than branded content.
