Classtime, an educational software platform used by millions of learners and teachers in more than 60 countries, needed a better way for teachers and students to communicate during remote lessons. When schools moved online in 2020, the lack of messaging made Classtime less useful as a remote teaching tool, so the team looked for a fast, scalable chat solution and evaluated TalkJS alongside other options.

Classtime implemented TalkJS’s chat API and JavaScript SDK to add a 1-on-1 in-app chat inside each learning “Session,” along with built-in file sharing and a customizable chat UI. TalkJS helped Classtime quickly deliver real-time communication for thousands of students and teachers, improving the remote teaching experience and customer satisfaction; the CTO noted that without it, many customers would have been unhappy with Classtime’s remote teaching capabilities.
