Case Study: SAGE achieves strategic competency visibility and streamlined appraisals with TalentSoft

A TalentSoft Case Study

Preview of the Sage Case Study

Software publisher SAGE is reviewing its competencies with TalentSoft

SAGE France, the 2,455‑employee French subsidiary of business‑management software publisher SAGE, launched a Strategic Workforce and Competency Planning (GPEC) initiative to better align HR with company strategy. Until then talent data (promotions, succession, departures) was scattered in spreadsheets and only 10% of staff were audited annually, leaving the company without a consolidated view of job profiles and core competencies.

To address this, SAGE ran collaborative workgroups to build a catalogue of some 60 jobs across five families and defined 55 cross‑functional competencies, then selected TalentSoft to integrate appraisals, training and compensation. The TalentSoft rollout (operational by June) will embed required competencies into appraisal workflows, let employees self‑assess and view internal vacancies, and deliver dashboards for managers—enabling faster identification of skill gaps, mobility opportunities and data‑driven HR decisions.
