Affinity Water supplies 900 million litres of water daily to 3.6 million customers across three English regions and must manage scarce resources, complex assets and strict regulatory commitments. To optimize supplies, model network hydraulics and meet five-year regulatory Asset Maintenance Plans, the company needed to consolidate data from meters, asset and billing systems and replace manual, legacy integrations.

Affinity moved infrastructure to AWS and deployed Talend Data Management with partner Datalytyx to build a centralised meter‑reading solution and data lake. The platform cut reporting from days to minutes, delivered cost‑neutral IT operations, improved settlement and leak detection capabilities, and enabled regulatory compliance and faster business insights while laying the groundwork for master data management and governance.
