Sky Deutschland, the leading pay‑TV provider in Germany and Austria with over 4.1 million subscribers, needed to deliver on‑demand TV across many devices while answering thousands of authorization, subscription and profile queries every second. To do that reliably and securely it required a flexible data‑integration layer that could aggregate and update many disparate back‑end sources in real time as part of its Over‑The‑Top (OTT) strategy.

Sky selected Talend Data Management after evaluation and engaged Capgemini for implementation; Talend’s ~800 connectors and easy‑to‑use platform were installed in a day and Sky’s team was trained to operate it. Talend now supports the interim aggregation layer, handles all data integration and interfacing, improves data quality and keeps front‑end systems up to date—delivering split‑second, on‑demand services and becoming Sky’s company standard for integration.
