Sabre Airline Solutions provides reservations, marketing and operations software to roughly 225 airlines and several hundred other travel customers via SaaS and hosted models. Many customers were several Oracle-database versions behind, and moving them to the latest integrated application suite required time-consuming, sequential database upgrades that were costly and risky.

Sabre adopted Talend (Open Studio and Talend Data Integration) to automate and parallelize data migrations. After a successful proof of concept they completed customer migrations in hours instead of weeks, cut migration costs by about 80%, doubled upgrade capacity (from ~10 to 25 upgrades/year) and created a repeatable process now used for more complex integrations.
