Beachbody, a Santa Monica–based health and fitness company with 23 million customers and more than five million monthly visitors, faced rapidly growing online data from its streaming service and digital platforms. Its on-premises Oracle data warehouse was too slow and costly to scale, making it take months to onboard new data and limiting the company’s ability to target and personalize offers or predict subscriber churn.

Beachbody implemented Talend Real-time Big Data and Talend Data Preparation with Hortonworks and an Amazon S3 cloud data lake (Hadoop/Spark), enabling self-service analytics for business users. The new architecture ingested core data in under six months and sped data acquisition fivefold, delivering near-real-time insights that improved campaign conversion and marketing efficiency, reduced churn, and accelerated time-to-market.
