Case Study: Travelodge achieves higher occupancy and millions in additional revenue with Talend Cloud Data Management

A Talend Case Study

Preview of the Travelodge Case Study

Optimizing hotel revenue through better customer understanding

Travelodge, the UK’s largest independent budget hotel chain with more than 560 hotels, needed to stay competitive against new entrants like Airbnb by improving customer understanding and optimizing room pricing to maximize occupancy. With a small data team, disparate data sources, and an existing move to Microsoft Azure that left integration gaps, Travelodge required a scalable, enterprise-grade data integration and quality solution to combine customer profiles with occupancy forecasting and reservations data.

Travelodge implemented Talend Cloud Data Management in-house in four weeks to standardize integration, manage a 180 GB operational data store, and feed partners and systems (OPERA, IDeaS, MoEngage, Reflexis). The solution processes ~2,000 jobs daily and reduced time to provision web data for analysts from 3–4 days to half a day, cut support/issue resolution from days to about 30 minutes, and enabled personalized offers and optimized pricing that have returned millions of pounds in additional annual revenue.
