Case Study: mobile.de achieves faster visitor metrics and big-data-ready integration with Talend

A Talend Case Study

Preview of the Mobile.de Case Study

Mobile.de builds on Data Integration Capabilities from Talend

mobile.de is Germany’s largest online vehicle marketplace, serving about 65 million visitors a month with more than 1.4 million vehicle listings for dealers and private sellers. The company needed to continuously adapt its virtual shopfront and monitor changing user behavior, but its legacy SAP ETL solution couldn’t support all databases and Linux variants (SUSE, Debian), left useful data out, and was too slow for timely analytics and resource planning.

mobile.de replaced the old ETL with Talend Data Services/ESB, migrating processes in 2011–2012 and deploying a redundant, virtualized Talend environment managed by the Talend Administration Console. The new solution integrated all data sources, sped up generation of metrics on site visits and revenue, supported future MongoDB and Hadoop initiatives, and leveraged a broad Talend partner network for faster development and better scalability.
