A Talend Case Study
ALDO Group Inc., a global footwear and accessories retailer with more than 1,750 stores worldwide, faced major e‑commerce challenges: its legacy, batch‑oriented platform struggled with peak seasonal demand (the last two months account for 20–40% of annual sales), causing downtime, synchronization failures, cart abandonment and missed sales, and the IT team couldn’t keep up with rapid business change requests or real‑time inventory visibility.
ALDO implemented a next‑generation SOA using Talend Data Services/ESB (deployed in a high‑availability cluster) to service‑enable front‑ and back‑end systems. The new platform integrates 100+ applications, services and databases, processes millions of events per day, moved operations from batch to real time, and cut request turnaround from months to hours/days. The result: reliable Black Friday/Cyber Monday performance, greater agility and visibility, lower cost of ownership, and a plan to roll Talend out across ALDO’s other brands.
