A Talend Case Study
Landesbank Berlin (LBB), a leading German universal bank serving about two million retail and 69,000 corporate customers, faced rapidly growing account data volumes and needed to replace its core banking system with Finanz Informatik’s hosted OSPlus. Because the central system touches every transaction, the single-cut migration was high risk — any failure could have halted the bank — while OSPlus generates about 2 TB of data daily that had to be reliably delivered to many downstream Oracle and other systems.
LBB implemented Talend Data Services/ESB to standardize its interface landscape, using Talend’s connectors and tools to build more than 1,000 Java-based interfaces and a single, company-wide information logistics process. The solution supported event-driven and scheduled workflows, integrated with job schedulers, processed ~2 TB/day, and enabled a smooth cutover: the new system and interfaces ran successfully from day one, simplifying ongoing adaptation and support.
