Plastic Omnium, a global leader in automotive parts and environmental solutions, faced growing IT complexity from its worldwide operations: country-specific practices, multiple applications, and uneven SAP coverage created a heavy burden of custom interfaces and made it hard to standardize processes and maintain product reliability. The company needed a flexible, easy-to-use integration approach to synchronize shop-floor systems and SAP across factories and support continuous improvement.

Plastic Omnium adopted Talend Open Studio (later migrating to Talend Data Integration) because of its developer-based licensing, Java compatibility, and ease of use. Pilot projects automated item creation and factory reporting by linking assembly systems to SAP, reducing custom interface development, standardizing integration jobs, enabling automated alerts for business users, and improving product quality monitoring. The result: simpler, faster integrations, increased flexibility, and better support for global standardization and reliability goals.
