Harry-Brot GmbH is a major German industrial bakery with a nationwide distribution network and sustained growth that created a need for tighter financial control and consolidated reporting. Although the company had the necessary data across multiple systems, managers struggled to access and unify it—some used live operational feeds while others worked from extracts—so Harry-Brot decided to build a central data warehouse and use an ETL tool to reliably populate it.

Working with partner CIMT AG, Harry-Brot implemented Talend Data Integration to extract and integrate data from its five core systems (including SAP HCM) using a free SAP connector and ABAP/IDoc processing. Pilot projects for production reporting and product feedback proved the approach, and jobs run as Java programs are managed via Tivoli. The result: scalable, lower-cost ETL, complete system integration, improved in-depth, data-driven decision support, and ongoing expansion into HR and article-management reporting.
