Case Study: Bayer Business Services achieves faster, GxP‑compliant clinical data access and accelerated drug development with Talend

A Talend Case Study

Preview of the Bayer Business Services Case Study

Finding the right prescription for clinical data access

Bayer, a global life sciences company, needed to modernize how it collected, integrated and validated vast clinical datasets used in drug development. Facing manual processes, disparate sources (eCRFs, labs, devices) and strict GxP documentation requirements, the company set out to build a microservices-based architecture that would automate data quality, provide auditable trails and speed researchers’ access to pharmacokinetics and biosampling data.

Bayer implemented the Talend-powered Karapit framework (using Talend Data Quality and Talend ESB) with partner QuinScape to connect clinical databases into an on-premises Oracle data lake and integrate with SAS and Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub. The microservices approach delivered faster access to clean, traceable data, enabled three GxP-validated releases, and accelerated PK analyses and dose‑finding while reducing manual errors and improving compliance.
