Case Study: The Royal British Legion achieves zero-defect data and personalized donor engagement with Talend

A Talend Case Study

Preview of the The Royal British Legion Case Study

Evolving the donor experience to serve the Armed Forces

The Royal British Legion, the UK’s largest Armed Forces charity, needed to modernize how it engages donors. With an aging donor base and a decade-old CRM built for direct mail, the organisation faced slow, error-prone manual data ingestion and difficulty integrating digital sources — creating a barrier to timely, personalized donor experiences and a goal of “zero-defect” data.

Working with partner Qbase, the Legion implemented Talend Cloud Data Management, Talend Cloud Data Quality and Talend Cloud Data Stewardship to automate ingestion from gaming, online stores, bank feeds and digital platforms, surface and correct errors at intake, and steward single faulty records. The result: automated supporter responses and faster, more personalized outreach, roughly 50% reduction in basic ingestion work (saving one FTE), and measurable progress toward near-zero inaccurate data.
