Euronext - Customer Case Study

Euronext, the pan‑European stock exchange operating markets in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon and Paris, faced a massive data challenge: a 100 TB transactional database processing 1.5 billion messages per day while meeting strict regulatory, availability and governance requirements. The company needed to move from aging on‑premises storage to a governed cloud data lake that would preserve integrity, speed access for business units and clients, and enable new revenue streams from market data.

Euronext implemented a hybrid AWS architecture (S3, Redshift, serverless managed services) with Talend Big Data and Talend Data Catalog to ingest, govern and catalog internal and external feeds while keeping trading systems on‑site for low latency. The result: end‑to‑end data lineage and dictionaries that cut a 200 person‑day impact analysis to one click, reduced provisioning from ~40 days to under one day, enabled real‑time analytics, increased iso‑budget data tenfold, and helped monetize data (already ~20% of revenues) while improving GDPR and MiFID II compliance.
