Ellie Mae, a provider of mortgage automation software, faced fragmented customer data after multiple acquisitions: sales and marketing teams relied on siloed databases and inconsistent Excel reports containing about 100,000 contacts with duplicates, invalid or outdated emails, and missing attributes, which caused high email bounces, returned mail, and poor visibility into customer relationships.
Using Talend MDM with data integration, cleansing, deduplication and Loqate address validation, Ellie Mae consolidated records into a single “golden” customer view that feeds Salesforce and Eloqua. The project removed 40,000 faulty records and trimmed the list to ~60,000 quality prospects, cut direct-mail returns, and improved email performance from a 70% bounce situation to an 80% delivery rate, enabling trusted BI, precision marketing and better cross-sell opportunities.
