Golf Digest Online (GDO) is one of the world’s largest golf portals, serving more than 3 million members with news, videos, e‑commerce and booking services. Its on‑premise marketing platform, built to manage growing customer data and analytics, began hitting processing and capacity limits as data volumes and analysis complexity increased.
GDO migrated its data warehouse to AWS RedShift and adopted Talend Big Data (with partner Air Co., Ltd.) for ETL and monitoring, chosen for tight AWS integration and scalable licensing. The move cut ETL jobs from about 2,000 to 500, improved response times via proactive monitoring, reduced processing time and maintenance, and freed resources to expand digital marketing and pursue advanced analytics.
