Age UK, the UK’s largest charity for people over 60, faced a mounting data challenge: more than 120 external data feeds (one file up to 250,000 records) fed into a 12 million–contact CRM, but poor quality, duplicates and manual cleaning by four full-time staff meant uploads could take up to eight weeks, leaving marketing, reporting and client communications slow and inaccurate.
Age UK implemented Microsoft Dynamics CRM alongside Talend Data Management (with KETL and an AWS development environment) to automate and standardize data cleaning and import. The result: uploads moved from as long as eight weeks to virtually real time, better analytics and targeted campaigns, improved compliance and deduplication, and about £78,000 in annual staff-time savings.
