Taksikuutio launches accessible taxi app with Taiste, earning a 4.83/5 pilot rating

Taksikuutio faced the challenge of creating a modern taxi travel service for disability service clients in Finland, a need highlighted by a new disability services law. The goal was to overcome the difficulties clients had with traditional, inflexible taxi services and to provide a more independent way to travel. Vendor Taiste was engaged to develop this service, named SoteKaista.

Taiste developed SoteKaista as a Progressive Web App using a rigorous user-centered design process that actively involved over 37 experience experts from the target audience. The solution focused heavily on accessibility, from its brand identity to its code, and was continuously tested and refined based on user feedback. The results from a pilot with Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County were highly positive, with 4000 trips completed, a 4.83/5 rating for taxi rides, and 100% of respondents saying the pilot met their expectations. The service successfully made users' daily lives smoother, more independent, and more flexible.
