A Tailwind Transportation Software Case Study
Knaggs Trucking, founded and led by Arnold Knaggs in rural Michigan, grew from a single truck to a 40-truck operation serving flatbed and dry van customers despite local economic challenges. As the fleet expanded, paper systems and QuickBooks proved inadequate for trucking-specific needs—especially invoicing, multi-location access, and real-time visibility—so the company needed a reliable transportation management system that would scale without adding headcount.
Knaggs adopted Tailwind in 2006 and recently migrated from the client/server product to Tailwind Online, porting all documents and data to a modern, web-based platform. The move delivered unified access across two offices and remote locations, improved invoicing and payment tracking, better visibility into drivers and equipment (including ELD monitoring), responsive support, and the operational efficiency to run 40 trucks with a lean six-person team while supporting continued growth and driver work-life balance.
