Jasper, a fast-growing real estate investing platform, needed a more secure and efficient way for engineers to access its AWS environment and internal tools. Its previous corporate VPN was slow, unreliable, and created security concerns, especially for accessing private resources like Sourcegraph, EC2, RDS, and Fargate workloads.

With Tailscale, Jasper set up secure access to private AWS environments using bastion instances and MagicDNS, enabling fast, encrypted connectivity for SSH, Sourcegraph, and debugging internal services. The rollout took just 10 minutes for Sourcegraph, latency to secure resources improved by more than 90% compared with the old VPN, and Tailscale costs less than 40% of Jasper’s previous VPN solution.
