How Cribl Enables Secure Work From Anywhere with Tailscale

Cribl, a data platform company, needed a better way to support secure remote access as a remote-first organization. As the team grew, its existing OpenVPN setup became difficult to manage for non-technical users, lacked native support for its identity provider, and required frequent configuration changes. Cribl evaluated Tailscale as a replacement to simplify access to shared AWS resources and make networking feel more like a LAN.

Using Tailscale, Cribl implemented identity-based remote access through Okta, along with easy-to-manage exit nodes and granular access controls. The result was a simpler, more scalable corporate network that supported Cribl’s growth from about 18 employees to around 550 without needing a dedicated networking team. Tailscale also helped Cribl strengthen zero-trust and microsegmentation practices while reducing complexity and improving the employee experience.
