Datacom Programmability that Meets Customer Complexity Needs

Datacom, a global provider of data communications services and solutions, needed a faster way to develop and launch new network products. Its legacy operating system and homegrown network management approach were slowing time to market and consuming resources that could have been spent on product innovation. To address this, Datacom turned to Tail-f and its ConfD platform.

Tail-f’s ConfD became the center of Datacom’s new DmOS operating system, providing northbound interfaces, programmability, and support for network management integration. The result was a revitalized product development process, with nine DmOS-based products released and more in development, plus full support available at launch instead of weeks or months later. Datacom also gained a more agile, vendor-neutral foundation and plans to use Tail-f for more advanced redundancy and NETCONF-based orchestration integrations.
