Aviat Networks Pursuing Better Time to Market with Tail-f

Aviat Networks, a provider of microwave radio solutions for public and private sector customers, needed to accelerate development of next-generation microwave routers that could support SDN and network programmability. To meet this challenge, Aviat evaluated several vendors and looked for a mature, cost-effective solution that would improve application management and help shorten time to market.

Aviat selected Tail-f technology, specifically ConfD, to provide the protocol stack and management interface for its new appliances, including a NETCONF interface. With Tail-f, Aviat reported less reconfiguration, faster development, and a quicker path to market, along with strong support from Tail-f and a positive financial impact from bringing a complex product to market faster.
