Arrcus Deliver programmability while supporting open-standard APIs

Arrcus, a software company building the hardware-agnostic ArcOS network operating system, needed an open-standards network management solution that could support programmability and interoperability with higher-level orchestration tools such as Cisco NSO. The challenge was to move beyond proprietary, hardware-bound networking models and deliver flexible management across a range of environments using protocols like NETCONF, RESTCONF, and SNMP.

Tail-f’s ConfD was selected to provide the open, standards-based foundation Arrcus needed, with support for OpenConfig, YANG, and multiple northbound interfaces. Using ConfD, Arrcus accelerated development and brought ArcOS to market quickly, while delivering a highly scalable, resilient platform that works across physical and virtual environments. The solution also enabled legacy CLI access and compatibility with Cisco NSO, helping Arrcus offer customers more flexible automation and network management without hardware constraints.
