Case Study: Burger King improves loss prevention with Tahola and Qlik Sense

A Tahola Case Study

Preview of the Burger King Case Study

Helping a loss prevention team uncover suspicious activity

Burger King worked with Tahola to improve loss prevention and financial oversight across its restaurants. With millions of transactions processed each day, the team needed a better way to quickly spot discrepancies at a transactional level, including unusual cash and card sale percentages and refund activity. Tahola used Qlik Sense to help the customer turn transactional data into easy-to-interpret visualisations.

Tahola built an auditing application in Qlik Sense using data from NCR Aloha epos stored in Microsoft SQL Server. The solution enabled Burger King’s loss prevention team to identify suspicious activity by filtering by store, employee, and time period, helping them spot outliers faster and respond while issues were still happening. As a result, Burger King increased monitoring of staff performance and behaviour, identified areas needing additional training, and gained evidence to support more serious action when needed.
