Bensons for Beds, part of Steinhoff Retail’s UK business, wanted to improve its online shopping experience and give digital customers the kind of guidance they would normally receive from in-store sales assistants. To do this, the retailer worked with Taggstar to test social proof messaging as a way to help shoppers make faster, more informed buying decisions and increase online sales.

Taggstar implemented social proof messaging across the product detail and basket pages, highlighting popular and trending products as well as real-time add-to-bag activity, such as how many others had added an item to their basket that day. After a simple integration and six-month A/B test, Taggstar delivered a 3.16% conversion rate uplift, £120,000 in revenue uplift, £48,000 in gross profit uplift, and a 1,496% ROI.
