Yellow Pages Canada, which provides local business listings and services, was working with massive datasets—one table grew to 57 billion rows over a 25‑month rolling window—stored in a Cloudera Hadoop data lake. While Hadoop handled storage, interactive analysis was slow enough to impede analysts' workflows and decision making.

By putting AtScale between Tableau and their Hadoop/Impala platform and using Tableau Desktop plus Tableau Server and Tableau Online for sharing, Yellow Pages now runs live analytics with AtScale creating aggregates and rewriting queries behind the scenes. The result: interactive queries are roughly 10–20× faster, greatly improving responsiveness, speeding decision making, and enabling enterprise‑wide sharing of insights.
