Wsparcie dla Szpitala is a volunteer-driven initiative started by academics and Salesforce partners in Poland to help hospitals and care homes struggling for PPE and basic supplies during the COVID‑19 crisis. Faced with chaotic, spreadsheet-based donations and a mismatch between what hospitals needed and what the public could provide, the team set out to coordinate requests, volunteers and local coordinators into a single, reliable system.

They built WsparcieDlaSzpitala.pl on Salesforce.org’s NGO package and used Tableau dashboards to show real‑time hospital needs, filter requests by item and location, and track deliveries. By scaling volunteers, adding local coordinator roles and connecting coordinators to companies and a major pharmaceutical wholesaler, the platform onboarded hundreds of hospitals quickly, handled a surge of public traffic after media coverage, streamlined matching and procurement of supplies, and enabled practical knowledge‑sharing (for example, using baby monitors to reduce PPE use).
