Wine achieves a single source of truth across a growing company

Wine created a BI team in 2012 and purchased Tableau to democratize data across the company. Before that, business units produced their own reports with inconsistent numbers—especially inventory—and IT was burdened with generating ad hoc reports. The main challenge was establishing a single, accessible source of truth that any department could use.

The BI team implemented Tableau and Tableau Online, publishing centralized data sources and prebuilt dashboards so users can self-serve. Today seven business sectors use the platform; sales and inventory metrics are unified, IT’s reporting load has decreased, and employees can access consistent information quickly—laying the groundwork to extend access company-wide.
